Job summary

Pinkston is seeking a Project Manager for a six-month, full-time temporary engagement in Falls Church, VA. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and delivering an integrated communications program for a public sector client.

You will drive schedules, track budgets, and lead internal teams and external vendors to ensure milestones are met. The position requires 3–4 years of PM experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–4 years of professional project management experience, preferably in an agency, consultancy, or in-house communications for government or commercial clients.
• Ability to translate a scope of work into timelines, budgets, and deliverable trackers.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and tight deadlines.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams—writers, designers, production staff, and vendors—to schedule and budget.
• Ability to track hours, budget burn, and scope against contract and flag risks early.
• Initiative to self-start, build process, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for client-facing settings.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day project management for a public sector client engagement—from kickoff through delivery.
• Manage a workstream end-to-end with a single schedule, scope, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to meet milestones within deadlines.
• Serve as the accountability layer to ensure conversations, decisions, and actions stay on track.
• Support account leadership in client meetings—prepare agendas, capture decisions, drive follow-through.
• Build and maintain project management templates, trackers, and repeatable processes.
