The Economic Development - Agency 72 seeks a Program Manager to supervise a team managing state and federal grant and loan programs in Lincoln, NE. The role requires strong communication, detail orientation, and grant management experience.

You will oversee staff training, project oversight, and coordination with consultants to achieve program goals. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, business, public administration, community or regional planning, marketing or related field.
• Three years related experience; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Preference for federal or state grant management experience; degree in economics, accounting, or business with emphasis in accounting or auditing.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
• Knowledge of federal and state loan and grants programs; finance principles and practices; agency operations and funding.
• Ability to apply fiscal management principles.

Responsibilities

• Trains staff on development activity policies to improve performance.
• Manages and provides oversight of federal and state grant programs.
• Plans, assigns, and directs the work activities of consultant staff to facilitate team goals and ensure consistent policies.
• Analyzes records and reports on project status to evaluate progress and take action.
• Discusses policies and procedures to provide operational guidelines for project assignments and instructs consultants when coverage is missing.
• Designs plans for development of communities, non-profits and public authorities within the State.
• Confer with local professionals on establishing public/private partnerships to finance development activities.
• Gives and receives information requiring judgment and authority regarding current and specific business of the unit.
• Reviews proposed projects and determines financial and programmatic feasibility.
