Job summary

Epstein seeks a Public Sector Market Leader in Chicago to establish and maintain strategic relationships with civic entities and consultant firms, driving profitable sales. The role focuses on developing market strategies, responding to RFPs, and expanding the firm’s public sector portfolio.

With 3–7 years in A/E sales and strong networking, negotiation, and proposal skills, you will lead market development efforts across public sector opportunities and help position Epstein for growth.

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of sales experience in the A/E industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of the AEC marketplace and sources.
  • Extensive business industry contacts.
  • Excellent lead generation and networking skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and proposal development skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite ideal.
  • Experience with CRM system, preferably VantagePoint, is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Research clients, market trends and background information for business development.
  • Uncover new project leads through various sources and personal contacts.
  • Act as the client contact and respond to requests during early project stages.
  • Identify PR, sponsorship and advertising opportunities and coordinate their implementation.
  • Assist in determining strategy for pursuing opportunities.

Public Sector Market Leader
Location: Chicago, IL | Hybrid Work Schedule

Epstein is seeking a Public Sector Market Leader experienced with A/E public sector projects to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals and decision makers within civic entities & consultant firms for the express purpose of generating new strategic relationships and profitable sales for the company.

What You’ll Do
  1. 1. Research clients, market trends and background information associated with business development efforts.
  2. 2. Uncover new project leads through various means including suppliers, vendors, cold calls to end users, industry tracking sources, professional and business groups, technical organizations, and personal contacts.
  3. 3. Act as the critical client contact and develop and prepare responses to client requests during initial stages of a prospective project.
  4. 4. Identify public relations, sponsorship and advertising opportunities; coordinate their implementation.
  5. 5. Assist in determining the strategy for pursuing specific project opportunities.
  6. 6. Develop marketing strategy, action plan, labor and revenue projections and budget.
  7. 7. Initiate, participate in, and manage the preparation process for qualification statements, proposals and presentations. Assist in writing response documents such as the project approach, narrative and cover letter. Take ownership of proposals and response documents.
  8. 8. Receive and review project announcements, RFPs, RFQs, etc., and initiates decisions on whether or not to formally respond.
  9. 9. Identify and participate in trade shows and industry events/functions to network with key influencers and/or industry contacts.

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of successful sales experience in the A/E industry.

Compensation

Individual compensation is determined by several factors, including education, experience, training, qualifications, skill sets, licensure/certifications, and location. Employees are also eligible for discretionary annual bonuses based on both company and individual performance. The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $100,000 annually.
