Big Horn County is seeking a Human Resources Director to lead all HR functions, ensure compliance, and manage recruitment, benefits, and wage programs. The role includes handling employee relations, investigations, and safety initiatives in a county environment.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule and reports to County Commissioners, with a salary range of $82,947–$131,109 and full-time status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field plus eight years of HR management experience.
• HRCI or SHRM certification desired.
• Must possess a valid Montana driver’s license and be an insurable driver.
• Must successfully pass a Pre-Employment Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all HR functions within the County, ensuring compliance with HR requirements.
• Manage recruitment and hiring processes, administer benefits and wage programs.
• Foster employee relations and coordinate safety and injury response initiatives.
• Conduct investigations into grievances and complaints; supervise payroll and benefits administration.
