Job summary

You will refine accounting policies, support debt issuance, and assist in budgeting with the Finance Director and City Manager. The city values stability, open government, and a collaborative work environment; supervision of a small team is involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field.
• Three years of increasingly responsible experience in government accounting, government finance, or government auditing.
• Two years supervisory experience.
• Two years of experience with financial accounting software, spreadsheets and databases.
• Knowledge of GASB pronouncements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of financial professionals.
• Coordinate audits and prepare ACFR and annual financial reports.
• Assist in the preparation of the City’s ACFR.
• Maintain City’s investment portfolio.
• Develop and refine accounting and internal control policies.
• Assist in the preparation of special assessments.
• Coordinate the preparation of debt issuance documents.
• Provide assistance to the Finance Director and City Manager during the budget process.
• Manage City's insurance and risk management program.
• Supervise department staff.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
