Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. is hiring a hybrid, customer-facing Software Engineer on the Public Sector Engineering team in St. Louis.

You will embed with U.S. government customers, deliver end-to-end software from prototype to production, and ship systems that integrate Scale's platform with government environments. You should have 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python and TypeScript, and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Linux, containers, and networking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in government or customer-facing contexts.
• Strong production coding in Python and TypeScript.
• Cloud platforms experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containers, Linux, networking fundamentals.
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and make sound trade-offs under pressure.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Embed with government customers to understand their mission and turn it into working software.
• Own delivery end-to-end from prototype to production at customer sites.
• Build robust backend systems and data integrations connecting customer environments to Scale's platform.
• Partner with product and engineering to feed field signals back into the roadmap.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customer stakeholders and guide adoption.
