Job summary

The Analyst writes code for econometric modeling, forecasts, and projections, and may lead research and technical assistance projects based on time and experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, or Julia for data management and analysis.
  • Experience with economic, workforce, demographic, or public-sector datasets.
  • Experience presenting complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with data management and reproducible research practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing applied research projects including developing project plans, collecting, analyzing, and managing data and data processes.
  • Write and edit code using a statistical computing application (R, Julia, Python) following programming best practices.
  • Update and maintain the division’s existing economic products such as final project reports and executive summaries.
  • Analyze the economic and fiscal impact of tax policy and communicate results in writing.
  • Provide support to automate and standardize data collection and management processes.
  • Develop and deliver training for clients and stakeholders; coordinate with clients to determine needs.
  • Incorporate evaluation and feedback into workforce and economic development projects.
