Job summary

County of San Diego seeks a Digital Media Intern (Student Worker) to assist with content creation, website updates, event coverage, and outreach. The role offers hands-on experience in public-sector digital communications, media production, and constituent engagement.

The intern will help with social media content, photo/video coverage at events, and coordination of communications tasks while supporting the Supervisor’s policy agenda. Requires enrollment in an accredited program.

Qualifications

• Availability to work Mondays through Thursdays with flexibility for additional days.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, After Effects).
• Working knowledge of digital camera equipment, specifically Sony A7III.
• Reliable transportation to travel to community events and County locations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work professionally in a public-facing government environment.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain the District 3 website with press releases and events.
• Support photo and video production for events, press conferences, and meetings.
• Operate camera equipment including Sony A7III or similar cameras.
• Edit and produce digital media content using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Create large-format printed materials for public events.
• Provide administrative communications support and vendor coordination.
• Collaborate with Communications and Community Engagement teams.
