Job summary

Franklin County is seeking a Chief Deputy Controller to support the County Controller in planning, directing, and coordinating the County’s financial and administrative operations. The role emphasizes accurate accounting, fiscal management, and compliance with federal, state, local, and county policies and GAAP.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Accounting, a CPA certification, and 5–10 years in government accounting or auditing, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Accounting and a CPA Certification required.
• 5-10 years in government accounting or government auditing, supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Controller in planning, directing and coordinating the County’s financial and administrative functions.
• Attend Salary Board, Prison Board, Retirement Board in Controller’s absence.
• Maintain the Franklin County Employees Retirement Fund and prepare reports and 1099’s.
• Prepare quarterly payroll tax reports and year-end payroll tax reports.
• Prepare accounting/financial reports and monitor county agency budgets.
• Coordinate projects and maintain financial records and reports.
