Job summary

The City of Asbury Park seeks a full-time Chief Financial Officer to oversee all municipal financial operations, reporting directly to the City Manager. The CFO will lead budget development, financial planning, debt management, cash management, and coordinate audits while supervising Finance Department operations.

The position manages a multi-fund budget and active capital program, with CMFO licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of municipal finance experience.
• CMFO license preferred or eligible to obtain within two years.
• Experience with budget development, debt management, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budget development for multiple funds and annual financial statements.
• Coordinate annual financial and debt statements, financial planning, and cash management.
• Direct debt management, audit coordination, and supervision of Finance Department operations.
