Job summary

Kforce Inc. is seeking a Budget Analyst in Casselberry, FL to provide temporary support to a public-sector Finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Approximately 4+ years of experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, or related area.
• Government/public-sector accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of government accounting practices and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support the annual budgeting process, including budget preparation, analysis, amendments, and transfers.
• Monitor revenues and expenditures against approved budgets and identify variances.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly actual-to-budget financial reports.
• Analyze and reconcile revenue, expenditure, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare budget journal entries, adjustments, and appropriation transfers.
• Assist with CIP budgeting and reporting.
• Analyze capital projects for budget compliance and availability of funds.
• Support short- and long-range financial projections.
• Assist with year-end accounting activities, audits, schedules, worksheets, and financial analysis.
• Prepare financial and budget-related reports for leadership and internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with accounting and finance staff to review actual results against budget.
• Assist with grants schedules and government financial reporting requirements.
• Support special financial analysis and budgeting projects.
