Job summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services seeks a highly organized and results-driven Audits and Accounting Manager. Under administrative direction, you will develop and maintain monthly and annual reconciliation processes to align department accounting with the Illinois Office of Comptroller, the federal government, and other sources.

You will also serve as the GAAP Coordinator and oversee departmental audits within Budget and Finance.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree with courses in business or public administration, economics, planning, accounting, or a related subject.
• Requires licensure as a Certified Public Accountant.
• Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting, research or budget.
• Three years of professional management experience in the accounting, auditing, or financial area of a public or business organization.
• Three years of experience working with accounting and auditing systems in a public or business organization.
• Three years of experience supervising professional staff.
• Two years of experience using Access, Excel, Microsoft Word and other audit software (ACL).

Responsibilities

• Serves as Audits and Accounting Manager.
• Coordinates and monitors various Departmental audits, statewide.
• Serves as full line supervisor.
• Collaborates to ensure financial systems meet accounting standards.
• Directs and monitors department's compliance with state travel regulations.
