Job summary

State of Illinois is recruiting a GAAP Coordinator to manage financial reporting for the Department of Labor from our Springfield office. The role requires CPA licensure and four years of professional accounting experience, including GAAP and audits.

You will collaborate with leadership, prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports, and assist with audits, controls, and risk management to strengthen accountability and transparency within IDOL.

Qualifications

• CPA is required.
• Four years of professional accounting experience, including GAAP and/or audits.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates financial reporting for the Department of Labor.
• Reviews financial reporting records, reports, and statements for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate with Fiscal staff to resolve discrepancies and reconcile transactions with external offices.
• Responds to external and internal auditors and testifies on GAAP packages and financial documents.
• Monitor filings and adjusting/reclassification entries, verify fund packages and SCO forms.
• Stay current on developments in financial reporting and accounting fields.
• Review external audit findings with CFO and Fiscal Manager; assist risk management and internal control improvements.
