Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/public administration or equivalent.
• Five years of government finance experience with two years in supervision/management.
• Knowledge of GASB, GAAP, budgeting, and internal controls required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Accounting Division functions: financial reporting, payroll, AP/AR, cash management, grants, audits.
• Oversee treasury operations, investments, banking relationships, debt issuance, and bond compliance.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures.
• Prepare financial statements, ACFR, budget, forecast, and audit reports.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff; promote performance.
• Ensure compliance with GASB, laws, and city policies.
• Oversee ERP/financial systems, system upgrades, and user training.
• Advise management and present financial information to leadership and boards.
• Evaluate operations and implement approved changes to policies and processes.
