City of Mt. Pleasant is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join its Finance Department.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Finance, the Accountant performs a broad range of professional accounting functions supporting the City’s financial operations, budgeting activities, grant administration, financial reporting, and annual audit processes. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate and reliable financial records and ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field.
• At least two years of professional accounting experience, preferably in governmental/public agency.
• Equivalent education, training, or experience may be considered where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting & Financial Records, Accounts Payable/Receivable, reconciliation and analysis.
• Financial reporting, budget support, grants and project accounting.
• Annual audit processes, fixed assets, and process improvement.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain confidential and accurate financial information.
