Job summary

Pima Community College's Public Safety and Emergency Services Institute seeks part-time temporary trainers to support classroom instructors in Paramedic and EMT programs. Positions are in Southern Arizona with flexible evenings and weekends.

10 vacancies for a qualified applicant pool; assignments vary as enrollment and needs arise. Responsibilities include assisting with instruction, hands-on training, safety supervision, and keeping attendance and training records.

Qualifications

• Teaching assistance under lead instructors in PS&E Institute programs.
• Flexible scheduling and non-traditional format teaching.
• May teach theory and/or hands-on skills.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during hands-on training.
• Control and monitor complex equipment and supplies.
• Assess and evaluate student skills and knowledge.
• Document performance and progress of students.
• Maintain attendance and training records.

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching assistance under the direction of lead instructors in the Public Safety and Emergency Services Institute programs and classes
• Conduct training in a flexible schedule and non-traditional format
• May teach theory and/or hands-on skills
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed during hands-on skill training
• Control and monitor complex equipment and supplies during hands-on skill training
• Assess and evaluate student skills and knowledge
• Document performance and progress of students
• Recommend and implement actions to assist students to accomplish goals
• Maintain complete and accurate attendance and training records
• Participate in marketing the program and recruiting students
• Remain current with emerging trends in assigned area

Education

Three years of experience related to the discipline field and/or program

Current licenses, certifications and/or endorsements
