Job summary

City of Yuma is seeking a Public Safety Technician to support the Yuma Police Department. You will respond to routine calls, gather evidence, write reports, and assist officers with investigations and community programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 1 year of customer service/clerical/computer experience preferred.
• Experience in a law enforcement environment is preferred; polygraph and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to routine calls for service not requiring sworn officer presence.
• Investigates crime, collects evidence, interviews victims and witnesses, and documents findings.
• Writes detailed police reports for supervisor review.
• Supports officers with routine duties and community programs.
• Testsify in court proceedings as needed.
• Assists detectives and public affairs with investigations and community engagement.
• Maintains confidentiality of City information and duties.
