Augustine Band of Cahuilla Indians is seeking a Public Safety Corporal to provide top-level safety services, prevent crime, and protect tribal assets. You will support the Sergeant, supervise shifts, and ensure engagement with laws, policies, and tribal regulations.

The role involves coordinating training, delegating tasks to Officers and Dispatchers, and reporting on performance while maintaining compliance and readiness for emergencies. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Fluent English (read, write, speak).
• Minimum 3 years of security work experience or military service.
• 1 year Public Safety Officer experience or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
• 832 P.C. instruction and Public Law 280 knowledge recommended.
• Experience with Federally Recognized Native American Tribes preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist Public Safety Sergeant with training, assignments, and inspections.
• Delegate responsibilities and balance workload of Officers and Dispatchers.
• Review and approve work and documents of assigned personnel.
• Counsel assigned personnel and report to Sergeant on performance.
• Recommend employees for commendation or corrective action.
• Assist in day-to-day staffing of shifts to meet staffing levels.
• Ensure compliance with laws, policies, regulations, and Tribe practices.
• Participate in developing and revising work methods.
• Comply with all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate within chain of command and across units.
• Command the department in absence of higher ranking officers.
• Perform other public safety duties and respond to emergencies.
• Work with law enforcement and other emergency responders.
