Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent and five years of law enforcement experience or an Associate's degree with three years of experience.
• Requires current non-restricted Indiana Driver's License.
• Requires completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Tier I or II training and IU Health DPS field training.
• Must be able to obtain NCIC/IDACS certification and access.
• Must not have felony, domestic violence or violent misdemeanor convictions.
• Pass pre-employment background, drug screen, and psychological exam.
• Working knowledge of computers and various software programs.
• Never had law enforcement license denied or revoked; not currently suspended.

Responsibilities

• Conducts rounding and patrols around IU Health properties.
• Responds to calls for service and enforces IU Health rules.
• Provides direction to team members, guests, and patients; de-escalates incidents.
• Prevents crime and investigates criminal activity and crashes as needed.
• Maintains records, writes reports, and conducts security screenings.
• Oversees shift operations and supervises officers; assigns work and schedules.
