Milwaukee County is seeking a Public Safety Officer to provide security across multiple county facilities, ensuring entry screening and safety for staff and visitors.

The Public Safety Officers provide security for those who work, visit and conduct business inside the Milwaukee County Courthouse, Safety Building, Criminal Justice Facility and the Vel R. Phillips Youth & Family Justice Center. All who enter these facilities are required to either show a valid form of work identification or be vetted by the security officers. This position is vital to keeping a safe environment for the mentioned facilities.
Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 10 lbs.;knowledge of security practices and procedures; oral and written communication skills; ability to take prompt and decisive action in an emergency situation; ability to use a computer to write reports; ability to work well under stress; ability to operate a two-way-radio; ability tounderstand and follow both written and oral directions; and ability to work effectively and harmoniously with employees and the general public.
