Job summary

The City of Alexandria is seeking an experienced Radio Systems Manager to direct and maintain the City's mission-critical radio infrastructure for multi-agency operations. You will serve as the primary technical expert, oversee vendor relations, FCC compliance, and budget development for the radio system and associated equipment.

Responsibilities include system maintenance, lifecycle planning, interoperability across departments, and ensuring readiness for first responders and regional partners.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating operation and maintenance of a two-way public safety radio system.
• Knowledge of FCC rules and licensing.
• Ability to analyze technical and contractual information.
• Experience in planning budgets and capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Performs overall system maintenance and repair on radio system database.
• Develops annual and long-range budgets for the radio system and subscribers.
• Manages FCC licenses and ensures FCC compliance.
• Provides proactive technical support for 911 operations.
• Coordinates interagency interoperability and vendor relations.
• Maintains inventory and equipment updates.
