Job summary

Greene County Board of Commissioners is seeking a Probation Officer to supervise clients on bond and community control, coordinating with courts, agencies, and providers to promote public safety. Qualifications

• Knowledge of general office practices, court regulations, probation rules.
• Strong data entry, reporting, and computer skills; proficient with office software.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion; effective communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, prioritize, and write clearly; maintain accurate records.
• Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Ohio driver's license, and meet training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise clients on Bond and Community Control.
• Promote public safety and support treatment services.
• Assist with coordination among criminal justice agencies and treatment providers.
• Monitor court-ordered treatment programs and progress.
• Facilitate resocialization and community reintegration.
• Recommend and enforce court-ordered sanctions; conduct interviews and prepare reports.
• Operate urinalysis and breathalyzer equipment; maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain equipment and assist other staff; respond to supervision violations promptly.
• Complete Probation Officer Academy and state firearms training; re-qualify annually.
• Perform related duties as assigned by Court, Deputy Chief, and Chief.
