Job summary

The University of Rhode Island in Kingston seeks a Coordinator, Public Safety/Community Outreach and Education to develop and manage community safety programs, compose trainings, and present public safety information to students, staff, and visitors.

This in-person role leads Clery compliance and CSA training, coordinates emergency planning and outreach events, and works with campus partners to strengthen safety relations. ServSafe certification within one year is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating community outreach and public safety programs.
• Ability to develop presentations and trainings for diverse groups.
• Strong communication and collaboration with campus stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development and administration of community engagement and outreach programs.
• Deliver targeted educational sessions to campus groups including faculty, staff, students and visitors.
• Schedule and staff Community Policing events; assist the Community Policing Officer; serve as Food Safety Manager when needed.
• Coordinate Citizens' Police Academy, internships, and semester-long training for students, faculty and staff.
• Lead Clery Compliance Team and assist with Clery reporting in coordination with relevant offices.
• Maintain roster of Campus Security Authorities and conduct CSA training.
• Coordinate fire drills with Fire & Life Safety and Alarm Services for residence halls.
• Develop Emergency Needs Registry and safety plans with Disability Services & Housing and Residential Life.
• Coordinate CRASE training and serve as CRASE instructor.
• Manage Public Safety websites, social media, and develop Google forms.
