Job Description

The Public Safety Officer, under the supervision of the Public Safety Lt., patrols assigned areas of the Medical Center to identify and respond to unsafe conditions and emergencies. Responsibilities include responding to calls related to unauthorized or illegal activities, assisting with emergencies such as fires, abductions, active shooter situations, and handling routine inspections for hazards and security issues.

The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work with diverse individuals, and proficiency in documenting incidents and using safety systems. Officers must be capable of handling safety inspections, testing equipment, and assisting law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) prior to orientation
  • International Association for Healthcare Public Safety and Safety Basic Exam within 1 year
  • ASP baton, Handcuffs, OC Spray, and aggression management training within 6 months
