Position Highlights

• Position: Public Safety Officer
• Location: Skokie Hospital
• Full Time - 40 hrs/week
• Hours: Evening Shift - Sat-Wed 2PM-10:30PM

Position Overview

The purpose of this job is to provide security services to staff and visitors with professionalism, fairness, and compassion, in accordance with policies, procedures, and training.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspire confidence through professional appearance and demeanor.
• Exercise critical thinking and collaborate with staff to ensure safety.
• Maintain alertness, ethics, and compliance with safety rules.
• Perform interior and exterior patrols, inspections, and safety audits.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Use computers for documentation and navigation.
• Meet ongoing training standards in various safety and communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred 3-5 years in security, law enforcement, military, or related customer service roles responding to emergencies.
• Valid Driver’s License and PERC Card within 9 months of hire; FOID card preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay: $18.84 - $27.32, based on experience.
