Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors and to respond promptly to emergencies within the facility. This role emphasizes de-escalation and sound judgment in all interactions.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, state-issued driver license, and certification timelines. Preference is given to candidates with 2 years in security/public safety and IAHSS certification within a year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required.
• 2 years experience in general security or public safety preferred.
• Driver license in state and Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 required upon hire.
• IAHSS certification as a Security Officer within 1 year required.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening required.
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed required.
• Georgia POST certification preferred.

• Must pass pre‑employment psychological screening – Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed – Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification – Preferred
