Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Safety & Security Officer to handle routine safety and emergency security activities, protecting patients, staff and visitors. You will act as the first responder to incidents and use sound judgment to de-escalate critical situations involving combative or escalating individuals.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and professional certifications within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required; 2 years in security/public safety preferred.
• Valid driver's license and in-state vehicle safety program adherence.
• IAHSS certification within 1 year required.
• Pre-employment psychological screening required; training in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, etc.

• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
