Johns Hopkins Medicine seeks a Public Safety Officer II for the Special Response Unit to provide advanced security services across our healthcare campus and to respond to emergencies, support preparedness, and protect patients, visitors, and staff.

The role requires at least 2 years in security or law enforcement, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work rotating shifts. Training includes CHPA/CHSO desirables; prepares reports and coordinates with law enforcement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of security or law enforcement experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain endorsements or certifications.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Conduct security patrols throughout the facility, including high-risk areas.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, and disturbances.
• Support emergency response efforts and coordinate activities during critical incidents.
• Monitor access points and verify identification and authorization.
• Assist investigations involving theft, vandalism, disturbances, and security incidents.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain security records.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Support emergency preparedness plans and drills.
