Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a fully trained security officer to ensure the safety of colleagues, patients, and visitors across the hospital campus. The role includes patrolling, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a secure environment in collaboration with hospital staff.

Required qualifications include five years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and multiple certifications (CHSO, FTO, Blue Card, ARC, TASER, Handcuff).

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your Role:

• Fully trained (armed - non-lethal) security officer position.
• Ensures colleagues,’ patients,’ and visitors’ safety; patrols and surveils all hospital campus areas and responds to emergencies quickly and appropriately.
• Displays an understanding of diversity.
• Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values).
• Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
• Patrols and surveils hospital campus; provides unarmed security.
• Responds to emergencies and drills (e.g., infant/child abductions (“code pinks”), fires (“code reds”), disasters (“code greens”) and violent/security events (“code greys”).
• Investigates thefts, burglaries, automobile collisions, and other violations.
• Delivers medication and emergency shipments.
• Assists staff members with patients.
• Completes required training.
• Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.

Reports To:Supervisor/Security (JC: 081001).

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., certificate of high school equivalency.

Required Experience: Five (5) years of relevant, job-related work experience.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Successful completion of the Field Training Officer (FTO) Program (provided by the Supervisor/Security).
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) credential from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
• Blue Card certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
• American Red Cross (ARC) first aid certification.
• TASER certification from a certified instructor.
• Handcuff certification from a certified instructor.
