The Public Safety Officer is responsible for patrolling the Johns Hopkins Bayview campus via foot, mobile unit, or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions, infringements, etc.

Hours: Day/Evening/Overnight

Education
  • Work requires comprehensive knowledge of security functions, typically acquired through significant experience in security operations, preferably with a High School degree or equivalent.
  • Completion of basic security officer training is required.
  • Assignment to the Communications Center requires successful completion of 911 and Communications dispatch training.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
  • Valid Guard Card.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Work Experience
  • One (1) year of security experience in the Protective Services Officer program at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions or law enforcement experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Salary Range: $17.11/hour to $28.26/hour, commensurate with experience and role scope. Salary discussions occur during candidate screening.
