Qualifications

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Public Safety Officer
  • Location: Glenbrook Hospital
  • Per Diem: Resource - As Needed
  • Hours: Shifts vary according to scheduling needs

Position Overview:

The purpose of this role is to provide security services to staff and visitors with professionalism, fairness, and compassion, adhering to policies, procedures, and training, even in challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspiring confidence in patients, visitors, and team members through professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Exercising critical thinking and collaborating with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure safety.
  • Remaining alert, observant, and ethical.
  • Enforcing safety and security rules and regulations.
  • Maintaining departmental uniform and equipment.
  • Conducting interior and exterior patrols, inspections, audits, and safeguarding patient valuables.
  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Using computers for documentation and navigation.
  • Meeting current department training standards, including radio communication, de-escalation, CPR, and clinical restraints.
  • Collaborating with staff to evaluate and determine appropriate actions.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service, especially responding to emergent situations.
  • Valid Driver's License and PERC Card within 9 months of employment; FOID card preferred or to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
