Job summary

St. Luke's Medical Center Public Safety in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Full-Time Security Officer for 1st shift (0700-1500) with rotating weekends off. The role emphasizes professional conduct, patient and visitor safety, and a service-oriented approach while enforcing center policies.

40 hours/week with a pay range of $22.90–$34.35 per hour and benefits eligibility. Responsibilities include patrols, incident response, de-escalation, access control, and assisting staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provides security services with a customer-service approach, focusing on professionalism, fairness, and compassion in accordance with policies, procedures and training.
• Inspires confidence in patients, visitors, and team members by presenting a professional, approachable appearance and demeanor; enforces safety rules.
• Performs interior and exterior patrols to identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire conditions; audits safety measures; assists others with information and directions.
• Prevents and responds to workplace violence; handles combative or threatening individuals and incidents.
• Serves as a primary resource for de-escalation and uses force when necessary (CEW, handcuffing).
• Plans and responds to emergencies such as infant abductions, fires, and active threats; intervenes in crisis situations.
