Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Safeguard students, employees, visitors, patients, and property by performing routine safety and emergency security activities.
2. Serve as the first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
3. De-escalate critical events safely and use sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating individuals.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
2. Minimum Experience: Two years in security, military, or public safety roles involving active firearm use, or equivalent training and experience in responsible weapons handling and use of force.
3. Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License; adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
4. Additional Qualifications: Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within one year of hire; Georgia P.O.S.T. certification preferred; ability to carry non-lethal weapons (Taser CEW, baton); firearm possession; pass pre-employment psychological screening; maintain required training and certifications such as Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, and Mental Health First Aid.
