Thank you for your interest in our Public Safety Officer opening!
This position is scheduled for Friday through Sunday 8pm to 8am.
As a Public Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises and residents. Your primary duties will include monitoring surveillance cameras, checking residents in and out, and responding to any incidents or emergencies that may arise during your shift. This position is unarmed.
Required: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience in a security or public safety role, preferably in a residential or community setting.
- Must be able to work overnight shifts and weekends as required.
- Excellent observational skills with the ability to quickly identify and assess potential security threats or risks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, visitors, and team members.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with surveillance equipment and security systems.
- Physical ability to perform regular patrols of the property and respond quickly to emergencies, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if required for patrols or escort duties).
- Must be dependable.

Qualifications
- Monitor surveillance cameras throughout the premises to detect any suspicious activity or potential security breaches.
- Conduct regular patrols of the property to ensure all areas are secure and free from hazards.
- Check residents in and out of the premises, verifying their identity and ensuring compliance with community regulations.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any alarms, disturbances, or emergencies, including medical emergencies, fires, or criminal activity.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary to resolve incidents or escalate issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities, incidents, and observations that occur during your shift.
- Provide assistance and support to residents and visitors as needed, including escorting individuals to and from their vehicles or assisting with directions.
- Enforce community rules and regulations in a fair and consistent manner, addressing any violations or concerns with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Conduct routine inspections of common areas, amenities, and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your knowledge and skills in public safety, emergency response procedures, and conflict resolution techniques.
