THE SCHEDULE:

Enjoy a consistent 12-hour rotating shift schedule with every other weekend off, providing a healthy balance between intense, hands-on work and the time to recharge and enjoy life outside of your role.

YOUR ROLE:

As a Public Safety Responder, you're not boxed into one specialty; you're cross-trained in police, fire, and EMS, making every shift a unique experience. Whether you're responding to emergencies, pursuing suspects, rescuing victims, or performing tactical fire and medical operations, you're constantly making impactful decisions. You're navigating high-stakes calls, driving emergency vehicles under pressure, and managing complex interpersonal situations. From conducting investigations and writing detailed reports to testifying in court or responding to fire alarms, you'll rely on sharp judgment, physical readiness, and a calm demeanor under stress.

OUR REQUIREMENTS:

• 18+ years of age
• United States residency
• Associate's degree or 60 credits
• Valid Michigan driver's license and a clean driving record
• Must reside within 20 miles of Farmington after one year of employment
• Ability to pass a physical fitness and medical exam
• Ability to pass psychological and oral exams
• Ability to wear and use a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
• Ability to climb/jump over obstacles, through openings, jump down from elevated surfaces, and crawl in confined areas

Although not required, possessing a MOLES certification, Firefighter I & II, or a Michigan medical license is a plus.
