Boston Medical Center - Brighton is seeking a Public Safety Officer to provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Full-time position with responsibilities across patrols, incident reporting, and liaison with emergency services.
The role requires a high school diploma (associate/bachelor preferred in Criminal Justice), 1–2 years in security/healthcare, strong communication, and the ability to act under pressure. Valid driver's license and ongoing training are required.

Has the authority to conduct investigations of all accidents, crimes, and incidents occurring within the jurisdiction of the Public Safety Department. This includes interviewing, collecting information, writing and filing reports, and consulting with law enforcement agencies when appropriate. Complete and enforce all life safety requirements including initiating fire safety drills and completing fire extinguisher checks. The Public Safety Officer has the authority to invoke other departments at the Medical Center to comply with safety directives issued by policy, the Director of Public Safety. The Public Safety Officer has the authority to carry out any and all directives as issued by the Director of Public Safety.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field, preferred.
1 - 2 years' experience in security, healthcare and/or related field.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all required training to include, but not limited to the following… Basic Life Support certification AVADE De-escalation certification. All assigned assignments/trainings. Any and all job-related training set forth by the Director of Public Safety
Must pass criminal background investigation.
