Job summary

The Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst with Spanish translation skills. The role involves researching and translating intelligence data, producing reports, and supporting investigations with interpretable testimony in court when needed.

Ideal candidates will have 36 months of research experience or an undergraduate degree in homeland security or related fields, or equivalent qualifications.

Qualifications

• 36 months of experience conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical techniques.
• Undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Research & analyze intelligence data translated from recorded or written materials & provide summarized reports.
• Provide language translation & interpretation during interviews &/or interrogations for investigative personnel & testify in court as to the accuracy of interpreted & translated material as needed.
• Prepare intelligence reports, products, & briefings for presentation to all public safety partners.
• Collect, research & analyze intelligence information & other resources to determine patterns, trends & movements of criminals to aid law enforcement agencies with investigators.
• Identify & analyze informational databases, spreadsheets & reports allowing information to be easily exchanged & understood.
