Job description

ELIGIBLE FOR $1,500 SIGN-ON BONUS

Entry level position. Receives emergency 911 calls and dispatches appropriate agencies; answers administrative phone lines; logs all calls in a Computer Aided Dispatch system; interacts daily with allied agencies; performs other duties as assigned.

  1. Answers 911 emergency calls using call-taking procedures.
  2. Answers administrative lines and dispatches agencies.
  3. Receives and dispatches calls for the Sheriff’s Office.
  4. Evaluates requests and dispatches fire, EMS, or law enforcement according to protocols.
  5. Knowledge of local geography and mapping tools.
  6. Logs call information into CAD system.
  7. Provides call details to responding agencies.
  8. Uses METERS/NCIC law enforcement network.
  9. Maintains certifications: ETC, EPD, EFD, EMD, NCIC, FEMA ICS 100/200/700/800, CPR.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must be 18 years or older.
  3. Three or more years of related experience or equivalent training/education.
Additional Requirements:
  1. Pass CritiCall pre-employment exams and typing test.
  2. Pass hearing and vision exams.
  3. Negative drug screen.
  4. Favorable background check.
  5. Psychological fitness exam.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:

Work involves normal office risks. Must work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. May be recalled to duty. Work environment involves standard safety precautions.
