Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from the 12th grade with five years in a law enforcement communications center.
• Two years in a lead capacity equivalent to Senior Public Safety Dispatcher.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license upon appointment.
• Possession of P.O.S.T. Basic Dispatcher Certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, train, and coordinate the work of subordinate dispatch staff.
• Lead staff in emergencies; maintain calmand decisive actions.
• Prepare reports, cost estimates, and performance data.
• Supervise staff, provide development opportunities, and evaluate performance.
