Position Overview

Under supervision, receives calls for police assistance, dispatches units, maintains records, monitors alarm systems, and supports communication activities. Must work independently in a high-stress environment, managing multiple tasks with sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch services, and evaluate information.
• Operate CAD, GIS, and other communication systems.
• Document incidents accurately and assist police personnel with records and information searches.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Two years dispatch experience, law enforcement dispatch preferred.
• Possess or able to obtain P.O.S.T. certification and other trainings.

Requirements

• Support 24/7 operations, including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Type at least 45 WPM.

Working Conditions

Fast-paced, high-stress environment with noise from radios and alarms. Requires physical and mental stamina, ability to interpret data, and handle emergency situations effectively.
