Job summary

The City of Irvine seeks a Public Safety Assistant - Extended Part-time to support the Property and Evidence Unit of the Irvine Police Department. You will order, issue, maintain, and document supplies and equipment, assist with purchasing, and approve invoices while supporting Public Safety Fleet operations.

Ideal candidates have strong customer service, professional communication, and superb organizational skills; multitasking ability and prior public safety exposure are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or related field with at least one year experience in law enforcement activities, community service, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Requires a valid California drivers' license; may require certification in first aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Order, issue, maintain and document supplies and equipment.
• Assist with the purchasing process.
• Approve invoices and support Technical Services (Public Safety Fleet) in a variety of tasks.
