About the Agency

The Mississippi Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors is responsible for the licensure process for Professional Engineers and Surveyors in Mississippi. The Board also investigates and disciplines violations among licensed professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with communication tasks as directed by the Executive Director, including responding to email and phone inquiries.
  • Maintain the agency's general email correspondence account.
  • Assist with application submissions and upload information into licensure profiles.
  • Participate in outreach activities at schools, colleges, and community events around the state.
  • Attend outreach and promotional events as directed.
  • Develop and implement promotional campaigns related to engineering and surveying.
  • Assist with Board meetings and licensure processes as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications

Strong communication, report writing, organizational skills, and ethical behavior. Ability to multitask, learn new systems quickly, and work effectively with various agencies and societies. Comfortable speaking publicly and making presentations. Knowledge of website and social media management, including platforms like LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years of experience; agency preferred qualifications include a college degree and 3-5 years of related experience. Experience with website and social media management tools such as Constant Contact and Canva is recommended. Eagerness to learn and adapt is essential.
