The Opportunity

Your role:

You have a solid foundation in PR principles and practices. You can take responsibility for monitoring, measurement and reporting, developing content including press releases for external distribution, providing support for PR programs across a business, interacting with the media proactively and reactively, coordinating activities with PR agencies including in the regions, and managing the distribution of news via a global newswire. You also have the ability to use the tools and platforms needed to do these things.

About the Team

You will be a Senior Public Relations Specialist acting in a contractor role in Nutanix’s global public relations organization, which is part of Nutanix’s corporate communications group. The role works closely with colleagues in Marketing and across Nutanix’s business, and vendors including PR agencies and media monitoring organizations.

Your Role

• Contributing to and executing PR plans aligned with Nutanix’s channel business and other organizational goals.
• Providing proactive and reactive communication to journalists and influencers to secure external awareness. This could involve pitching stories, drafting press releases, and coordinating interviews.
• Developing and managing the approval of content for various channels, including press releases.
• Monitoring media coverage and analyzing its impact on share of voice, and reporting on PR campaign outcomes.
• Supporting the planning and execution of PR announcements and events.
• Working with internal teams and external agencies to ensure cohesive PR program execution.

What You Will Bring

• Degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field.
• 10 - 12 years of proven experience in public relations or a related field.
• Self-motivated, strategic thinker who possesses a positive team-player attitude capable of collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication, media relations, strategic thinking, project management, and analytical skills for monitoring PR campaign performance. Additionally, strong interpersonal skills, collaboration, and adaptability are important.
• Open to candidates from across the United States.

Work Arrangement

This is a full-time contract position that can be based anywhere in the United States and could operate in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration if you are based near Nutanix’s headquarters. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
