Job summary

Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA invites applications for a 100% FTE, fixed-term, renewable Lecturer position beginning Fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Public Relations and build and maintain connections with local industry and the broader field.

The role includes academic and career advising, service to the department and university, and, beginning in the second year, leadership responsibilities within the Public Relations program, including assessment

Qualifications

Master's degree in public relations, media studies, communication, or related field; professional doctorate or terminal degree may be required by the department.
One year of undergraduate teaching experience in public relations or similar discipline preferred.
Demonstrated ability with curriculum design, assessment, and/or academic advising.

Responsibilities

Teach the equivalent of 24 credits per academic year (4 courses) in Public Relations and related topics.
Develop and maintain connections with local industry to inform teaching and enhance student experience.
Provide academic and career advising to Public Relations majors, starting in the second year.
Contribute to department and university service and participate in campus meetings.
Provide leadership within the Public Relations program in the second year, including program assessment and curriculum review.
