Gresham Smith is seeking a Public Relations & Communications Coordinator in Nashville to craft brand content across websites, newsletters and social media while safeguarding consistent messaging across platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Integrated Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including knowledge of AP style, grammar, and punctuation
  • Ability to translate complex architecture and engineering information into engaging content for nontechnical audiences
  • Distill key thought leadership concepts into compelling articles and targeted media pitches
  • Working knowledge of communications, public relations, and marketing practices and principles
  • Media relations experience with developing targeted pitches and reporters relationships
  • Experience developing and managing social media content, preferably in a B2B environment
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn CMS like WordPress and content dissemination platforms
  • Experience with media and social monitoring platforms like Cision, Meltwater, or Muck Rack
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot, PR Newswire, or related platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal and consulting skills with executives, SMEs, and partners
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple assignments
  • Ability to lead meetings with agendas and decision communication
  • Familiarity with standard office practices and firm policies
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach and ability to build relationships
  • Willingness to travel ~15% with overnight stays
  • Regular in-office presence in Nashville as part of a hybrid arrangement
  • Public relations agency or journalism experience preferred
  • Experience in video production and industry interest in architecture/engineering/construction are plus

Responsibilities

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Integrated Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including knowledge of AP style, grammar, and punctuation, with the ability to provide relevant work samples
  • The ability to translate complex architecture and engineering information into engaging content that is easily understood by nontechnical audiences
  • The ability to distill key thought leadership concepts into compelling articles and targeted media pitches
  • Working knowledge of communications, public relations, and marketing practices and principles
  • Media relations experience, including developing targeted pitches and building relationships with reporters
  • Experience developing and managing social media content, preferably in a business-to-business environment
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, website content management systems such as WordPress, content dissemination platforms, and native social media analytics
  • Experience with media and social monitoring platforms such as Cision, Meltwater, or Muck Rack
  • Hands‑on experience with HubSpot, PR Newswire, or related platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal and consulting skills, with the ability to work effectively with executives, subject matter experts, technical staff, internal stakeholders, and marketing partners
  • Strong time‑management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and follow up on time‑sensitive deliverables independently
  • The ability to lead and manage meetings, including developing agendas, outlining next steps, and clearly communicating decisions and deliverables
  • Familiarity with standard office practices and the ability to follow established firm policies and procedures
  • A collaborative, team‑oriented approach and the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
  • A willingness to travel approximately 15%, including overnight stays, based on project and event schedules
  • The ability to maintain a regular in‑office presence in our Nashville office as part of a hybrid work arrangement

Public relations agency or journalism experience is preferred. Experience in video production, including storyboarding and conducting interviews, and an interest in or experience with the architecture, engineering, and construction industries are also considered a plus.

About the Role

As the Public Relations & Communications Coordinator, you will:
