Job summary

Union County, Ohio is looking for a technically skilled GIS Technician to maintain land records, official tax maps, and GIS datasets. You will draft, map, review deeds, and support map creation for multiple departments.

You will assist the public with property boundary questions and help index and archive boundary surveys and historical records. Proficiency with ArcGIS/ArcPro and AutoCAD is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in GIS, CAD, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Three years of relevant mapping, drafting, land surveying, or courthouse/title research experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience, and training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain official county tax maps and GIS layers reflecting changes.
• Review deeds, surveys, and instruments for accuracy and compliance with conveyance standards and Ohio Revised Code.
• Index, file, and archive boundary surveys and historical land records.
• Assist the public, title companies, attorneys, and other county departments with questions regarding boundaries and parcel numbers.
• Produce scaled digital maps and CAD/GIS drawings.
• Meet safety requirements and attend regularly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
