Job summary

Clark County Jail Services is seeking a Public Disclosure Specialist to coordinate complex public records requests in accordance with the Public Records Act. You will assess timelines, review materials, and produce department-wide records with independence and accuracy.

The role focuses on maintaining records retention compliance, collaborating with department heads, and implementing new disclosure procedures as Jail Services evolves.

Qualifications

• Advanced Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro.
• Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures related to public agency records retention and disclosure functions.
• Knowledge of government transparency principles.
• Pertinent federal, state and local laws pertaining to public disclosure and records retention schedules.
• Use of personal computers and basic software.
• Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with proper grammar.

Responsibilities

• Prepares correspondence and other documents.
• Gathers and compiles information and prepares reports and analyses in response to complex and urgent issues.
• Provides direct customer service in the more complex service areas.
• Develops and maintains computer databases or manual records systems.
• Uses spreadsheets to track, analyze and report quantitative information.
• Processes forms, applications, service requests and payments.
• Develops or recommends new policies, systems, work procedures and methods.
• Implements new procedures and trains staff.
• Coordinates and organizes meetings, activities and functions; schedules rooms and ensures notification of participants.
