Job summary

Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum in Hawaii is seeking a Manager of Public Programs to own planning and execution of the Museum's public programs, from guest events to major events like PHAMily Fun Day.

This manager-level role requires coordinating across departments, volunteers, and partners to ensure programs meet museum standards. The position includes training on the Manager of the Day program and may involve assisting visitors and operating simulators during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and executing public programs or events from concept to completion.
• Proven ability to supervise employees, volunteers, or cross-functional teams.
• Experience coordinating multiple departments or partners and managing priorities.
• Ability to make sound decisions and stay effective during live events.
• Excellent public speaking and guest-relations skills.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/evenings/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead execution of recurring and special public programs.
• Own event-day operations for large public events and staff coordination.
• Coordinate with Development for sponsorships and vendor agreements.
• Support volunteer recruitment and training for public programs.
• Cover visitor floor duties during high-traffic periods.
• Collaborate with other departments to align staffing and logistics.
