Cumming Group is seeking a Communications and Outreach Coordinator to support the Airfield and Terminal Modernization Program (ATMP) in Los Angeles. You will help implement public information campaigns, engage stakeholders, manage inquiries, and prepare notifications and updates throughout planning, design, and construction phases.

You will develop presentations, manage databases, coordinate events, and assist with website CMS updates, social media, and media coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, public administration or related fields.
• Prior experience in public outreach, public relations, communications, community engagement, or a related field is required.
• Familiarity with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Proficiency with Microsoft systems including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
• Experience working with CMS platforms, including Drupal or similar.
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Benchmark or similar systems.
• Knowledge of social media platforms and content management tools.
• Ability to maintain electronic records, contact databases, and project communication logs.
• Experience supporting public infrastructure, transportation, aviation, construction, or government projects preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Develop PowerPoint presentations, fact sheets, FAQs, and informational materials.
• Coordinate logistics for public outreach events and meetings.
• Support website updates, CMS content management, and media coordination.
• Assist with social media content preparation and monitoring.
• Support media event preparation and material distribution.
• Maintain communication records and outreach activity logs.
• Coordinate meeting schedules and sign-in sheets.
• Monitor project activities and community concerns and provide updates to leadership.
• Prepare reports documenting outreach efforts and metrics.
• Distribute project information to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Support contractors and consultants with approved communication protocols.
• Assist with field outreach activities at project sites.
• Perform other communications and outreach duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides communications, outreach, and administrative support for the Airfield and Terminal Modernization Program (ATMP) Roadways and Enabling Projects. This role assists with the implementation of public information and community outreach initiatives, stakeholder engagement activities, public notifications, and project communications throughout project planning, design, and construction activities.
• Assists in implementing the ATMP Roadways and Enabling Projects stakeholder engagement and communications plans.
• Helps track and address public inquiries, comments, complaints, and requests for information and elevate issues as appropriate.
• Assists in preparing and distributing traffic advisories, construction notices, project updates, and community notifications.
• Maintains stakeholder contact databases and distribution lists.
• Drafts routine correspondence, meeting notices, stakeholder updates, and outreach materials.
• Assists with development of PowerPoint presentations, fact sheets, FAQs, and informational materials.
• Coordinates logistics for public outreach events, open houses, workshops, community meetings, and stakeholder briefings.
• Supports website updates, document uploads, and content management activities.
• Assists with social media content preparation, scheduling, graphics coordination, and monitoring.
• Supports media event preparation, including attendee coordination, logistics, and material distribution.
• Maintains communication records, outreach activity logs, and stakeholder engagement databases.
• Coordinates meeting schedules, agendas, sign-in sheets, and meeting summaries.
• Monitors project activities and community concerns and provides updates to leadership.
• Assists in preparing reports documenting outreach efforts, stakeholder engagement activities, and communication metrics.
• Coordinates distribution of project information to internal project teams and external stakeholders.
• Supports contractor and consultant teams in implementing approved project communication protocols.
• Assists with field outreach activities at project sites, meetings, and community events.
• Performs other communications and outreach-related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Public Administration or related fields.
