Job summary

State of Hawaiʻi invites applications for a Librarian position at Waiawa Public Library. The role plans and supervises library operations, provides reference and cataloging expertise, and coordinates services for major collections and programs.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and 2.5 years of professional librarianship experience, with at least one year at Librarian III level. Rotating shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
• Two and a half years of progressively responsible professional librarianship experience.
• Experience in major functional areas such as selection, acquisition, cataloging and classification, collection development, reference and readers' advisory, or development of library services.
• At least one year at Librarian III level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises the operation of a public library and serves as a specialist for reference, materials, cataloging, or subject-area collections.
• Plans, coordinates and evaluates library services in major functional areas.
• Provides specialized reference services and materials to department or program personnel.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
